The Brooke Cap-Toe Service Boot in dark oak French calf is our cap-toe service boot built on the Jacka last based on vintage Australian Army design. Crafted with absolute care and made with premium materials, these boots are extremely versatile and durable, as military heritage insists.
For standard sizes order a half size down e.g. if you normally wear a 9.5 UK you will order a 9.0 UK Turon. Do not use your sneaker size which is in U.S. sizing. See the sizing section below for more information.
Full-grain French calf
Full leather lining
- Flat cotton waxed lacing (differs from product image)
The Wordsworth is constructed using the Goodyear Welted method, considered by shoe enthusiasts as the 'Gold Standard' in shoemaking.
The upper leather, leather lining, and the (leather) welt are stitched to the ribbing, which has already been attached to the insole. The welt will then be stitched to the leather sole. This final stitch can be removed so that the sole can be replaced without damaging the rest of the shoe.
- Closed-channel leather outsole
- Leather mid-sole
- Leather insole
- Cork footbed
- No reconstituted leather used
Service Boots are designed for men (soldiers) who carry heavy loads. Feet expand under such pressure. The Jacka last is taken from an existing British service boot last.
As a result, our service boots are a half-size larger than standard UK sizing - see the example below:
| UK sizes
||UK Grading (mm)
||Jacka Last Grading (mm)
Standard UK half size difference between sizes is 4.233 mm.
Note: We do not recommend using your sneaker size to select your TGC boots. Sneaker sizes are often in US sizes, which can be a half to full size larger than UK sizing. In addition, foam cushioning will influence the size you select in sneakers.
Always use shoe trees or boot trees when not in use to keep the shoes or boots in shape and to prevent them from creasing.
Apply shoe cream every 3-4 weeks to keep the leather soft and supple.
