Inspired by Fremantle's vibrant, seaside energy, the Thomas George Collection presents the Freo Plain Toe Service Boot in Blue Suede. Crafted via the labor-intensive stitchdown construction method, this service boot boasts blue English suede built on the Jefferies last. The high stitch-per-inch ratio (13 spi), combined with the studded Vibram outsole, means it is more refined than the average work boot but still maintains its rugged characteristics.
For standard sizes order a half size down e.g. if you normally wear a 9.5 UK you will order a 9.0 UK Turon. See the sizing section below for more information. Do not use your sneaker size which is in U.S. sizing.
- English Suede - Blue
- Scotch Guarded for stain resistance
- Full leather lining
The Freo Service Boot is constructed using the Stitchdown Construction method. Stitchdown construction is a variation of the Goodyear Welted Construction method; however, the leather upper is turned out and stitched above the welt rather than wrapped underneath and stitched beneath the welt. The result is a very sturdy service boot with excellent water-proofing qualities. Perfect for a boot designed for all life's adventures.
- Rubber-studded Vibram outsole
- Leather mid-sole
- Leather insole
- Cork footbed
- No reconstituted leather used.
Service Boots are designed for men (soldiers) who carry heavy loads. Feet expand under such pressure. The Jacka last is taken from an existing British service boot last.
As a result, our service boots are a half-size larger than standard UK sizing - see the example below:
| UK sizes
||UK Grading (mm)
||Jacka Last Grading (mm)
Standard UK half size difference between sizes is 4.233 mm.
Note: Sneaker sizes are often in US sizes, which are often a full size larger than UK sizing. e.g. a size 11 US will be a size 10 UK (see manufacturer for further sizing information).
Always use shoe trees or boot trees when not in use to keep the shoes or boots in shape and to prevent them from creasing.
Apply shoe cream every 3-4 weeks to keep the leather soft and supple.
