The Turon in brown calf is our Plain Toe Service Boot built on the Jacka last based on a vintage Australian Army design. Crafted with absolute care and made with premium materials, these boots are extremely versatile and durable, as military heritage insists. Our service boots are subtly more refined than the average work boot but still maintain their rugged characteristics and are perfect for any adventure, semi-formal or casual event.
For standard sizes order a half size down e.g. if you normally wear a 9.5 UK you will order a 9.0 UK Turon. Do not use your sneaker size which is in U.S. sizing. See the sizing section below for more information.
- Full Grain French Calf Leather - Brown
- Full leather lining
The Turon Service Boot is constructed using the Stitchdown Construction method. Stitchdown construction is a variation of the Goodyear Welted Construction method; however, the leather upper is turned out and stitched above the welt rather than wrapped underneath and stitched beneath the welt. The result is a very sturdy service boot with excellent water-proofing qualities. Perfect for a boot designed for all life's adventures.
- Rubber-studded Vibram outsole
- Leather mid-sole
- Leather insole
- Cork footbed
- No reconstituted leather used.
Service Boots are designed to fit generously because feet expand under heavy loads, which soldiers often carry. The Jacka last is taken from an existing British service boot last.
As a result, our service boots are a half-size larger than standard UK sizing. For example:
| UK sizes
||UK Grading (mm)
||Jacka Last Grading (mm)
Standard UK half size difference between sizes is 4.233 mm.
Note: We do not recommend using your sneaker size to select your TGC boots. Sneaker sizes are often in US sizes, which can be a half to full size larger than UK sizing. In addition, foam cushioning will influence the size you select in the sneaker.
Always use shoe trees or boot trees when not in use to keep the shoes or boots in shape and to prevent them from creasing.
Apply shoe cream every 3-4 weeks to keep the leather soft and supple.
